YOUTH CLIMBING

CLIMBING WITH KIDS

Looking to drop in with the kids? Take a look below to see what you need to know.

Children 6 and older are welcome to climb as long as they are supervised directly by an adult (18+).

Supervision ratios are as follows:

6-7 years old : 1:1

  • Supervisors may not climb.
  • The supervising adult should always be an arms length away. While your child is on the wall, you should be watching attentively from the side of the mats.

8-10 years old : 1:2

  • Supervisors may not climb.
  • Staff members should be able to determine at all times who the responsible adult is. This means kids should always be within your line of sight.

11-13 years old : 1:2

  • Supervisors may climb, but should always be in the vicinity of the youth they are supervising.
  • Staff members should be able to determine at all times who the responsible adult is. This means kids should always be within your line of sight.

Please note that our facility caters to a wide range of climbers of varying ages and experience levels. While we all love to have fun, climbers must be ready to share our space in a safe and respectable way.

  • All climbers and supervisors must receive a safety orientation upon their first visit.
  • Supervisors must actively watch their climber. This means staying together and staying off your phone. We are counting on you to be their eyes and ears!
  • Youth 16 and under are forbidden from using training equipment such as rowers, stationary bikes, campus boards, hangboard and weights.
  • Mats must be kept clear at all times. No running or playing on mats.
  • Climbers must always maintain at least a 2 meter radius from others while on the wall. Assess before getting on the wall whether or not your climbs and fall zones overlap.

All minors (under 18) must have a waiver completed by their parent/legal guardian.
