Looking to drop in with the kids? Take a look below to see what you need to know.
Children 6 and older are welcome to climb as long as they are supervised directly by an adult (18+).
Supervision ratios are as follows:
6-7 years old : 1:1
8-10 years old : 1:2
11-13 years old : 1:2
Please note that our facility caters to a wide range of climbers of varying ages and experience levels. While we all love to have fun, climbers must be ready to share our space in a safe and respectable way.
All minors (under 18) must have a waiver completed by their parent/legal guardian.
The 8-12 year old recreational group is geared towards our youngest climbers. Lessons will be structured around a mix of games, technique lessons and of course, lots of time on the wall!
New climbers will learn the basics of technique and footwork, while those with previous experience will get to build and improve on fundamentals. Emphasis will be placed on exploration of movement and fostering an enjoyment of the sport.
All experience levels welcomed.
No tryouts necessary. Registration will be held on a first come first served basis.
An enthusiasm for climbing is a must!
Our Development stream brings together motivated climbers who are ready to push themselves and train in a more structured way. Climbers may choose to compete, but are not required to.
Our Jr Development Team targets the Learn to Train and Train to Train stage outlined in the CEC’s Athlete Development Model.
These athletes will continue to hone their climbing skills on the wall. Some off-wall training is introduced at this stage, including some body weight exercises, core work and mobility. Climbers at this stage benefit from a generalized approach that fosters a continued love of climbing as a sport.
Our Sr Development Team targets the Train to Train/Train to Compete and Active for Life stage of the CEC’s Long Term Athlete Development Model.
These athletes will continue to hone their climbing skills on the wall. Some supplemental off-wall training will include generalized strength training, core and mobility. Climbers at this stage are encouraged to set their own goals which will inform their training, climbing and personal development.
Our Competitive stream brings together athletes that show a high level of dedication and motivation. A well rounded approach will focus on the mental, physical and technical aspects of the sport. A big emphasis is placed on expanding the athlete's versatility and vocabulary of movement.
Climbers are expected to compete at local bouldering competitions (Atlantic regions), and may get the chance to qualify for Regional and National level events.
Our Jr Competitive Team consists of B and A category athletes.
These athletes will continue to work on increasingly complex movements. Some targeted off-wall training will be utilized, including body weight exercises, core work and mobility. Climbers at this stage will be pushed to target weaknesses and set personal goals.
Our Sr Competitive Team consists of A and Jr category athletes.
These athletes will continue to work on increasingly complex movements. Youth climbers at this stage have surpassed their Peak Height Velocity and are ready for higher intensity training, tailored to their individual level. These athletes will also begin to work more independently and should be prepared to take responsibility for their own training, with the support from their coaches and teammates.
